Mike Le Couteur is the latest addition to the Global National family, but you'll surely recognize his face. Mike has been filling in as a correspondent ever since the Dawson College shooting in 2006 thrust the local reporter onto the national stage.
His vast experience in covering countless provincial and federal elections will serve him well as he now reports from Parliament Hill for Global National.
From overpass collapses, to playoff riots, and floods - Mike has been front and centre for the biggest stories in Quebec over the past 12 years.
Born and raised in Montreal, Mike studied broadcast journalism at Concordia University. He jumped into the Global Montreal newsroom right after his schooling...literally. His first shift was the same day as his last exam.
Mike has also contributed to Global's weekly newsmagazine 16x9, putting together a story on Capt. Brian Bews, the CF-18 pilot who narrowly escaped death at an air show in Lethbridge, Alberta July 2010.
