CBS managed to show up the Super Bowl with a funny ad for The Late Show that included David Letterman, Oprah and Jay Leno.

The 15-second spot was put together in a matter of days, and took only 25 minutes to shoot, reports Entertainment Weekly. Most Super Bowl ads are made over the span of a year.

After a well-received commercial featuring Letterman and Oprah in 2007, CBS decided to include funnyman Jay Leno this year. Rob Burnett (executive producer for The Late Show) told Entertainment Weekly, "We were banging heads together. How do we come close to topping the last one? Then Dave got this idea. My first call was to Oprah – she got it right away – and then I called [CBS Corp. Chairman] Les Moonves to make sure he was OK with Jay being on CBS." After clearance from NBC execs, Leno told Burnett, "This is the way show business should be."
